Stoked about this collaboration- between us at Iyé Creative, the farmer women at Upbeet Garden Farm, and Chef Zack from Elk and the Tide Catering. From farm, to kitchen, to the market for you to enjoy and share with your family/friends over the holidays ❤️ Reciprocal relationships are nurtured with respect & trust. Our partnership with @upbeetgarden has been magical and we've been learning from each other.
They grew beautiful beets to be turned into pickles under the supervision of the incredible Zack from @elkandthetidecatering. This way we're highlighting and supporting local makers whose knowledge it's so rich & vast.
The sales of these jars will go towards growing and distributing accessible food boxes for BIPOC next year and beyond. As a small scale farm & social enterprise working in collaboration for food justice, we are looking for creative ways to make this project financially sustainable in the long term. we hope this kind of localized system, direct from farmers into the homes of marginalized folks can continue ~ it takes support from the whole community.
